  2. The Balaguère valley
Walk to the foothills of the Couserans, at an altitude between 500 and 700m to discover a well preserved valley (the image of the preserved valley has been overused, but it is stil the best one for this little rural paradise with its many feudal remains).
Did you know it ? It's in Balagué, the main village in the valley that Daniel Vigne has shot his movie called « Le retour de Martin Guerre » (The Return of Martin Guerre), with Gérard Depardieu and Nathalie Baye.
    Walking time : 2h30.

  3. In Foix, the Saint Sauveur cross
Ideal to go from hills to city, or how to make a little nature outing leaving from the Prefecture !
Did you know it ? The Comtes de Foix château, which dominates the city from its rocky outcrop, has been made into a prison by Richelieu. It is today a territorial museum.
