Henry Russell (1834-1909) described this area as soon as 1874 : « …the little known Barroude area, a mountainous desert of stones and snow, where the bare mountains roll on like brown waves, with on the East side the huge precipices of the Géla and Troumouse ; it looks like some kind of Mongolia. » Walking time : 5h15.
